I had an unlimited transaction checking a/c at cloverdale mall branch for 5 yrs used for mortgage payments & pay bills direct deposit pay & a $500 overdraft averaged 45 to 60 transactions per month with deposits of $8200 to $9000 & withdrawals of $8000 to $9000 per month on Fri feb 24/17 had a $2800 pay & $300 previous bal. after work I go to a atm to withdraw grocery money tells me no funds get home get online says overdrawn & a/c has a freeze on it call to see why & have it removed they tell me it was done by my branch but could not tell me why & only my branch could remove it so I call my branch lady that put it on left for weekend ask to speak to manager she is on vacation no assistent there, tell me to call back on monday asked them to release $500 of my money to get me through the weekend flat out no getting pissed now have a few small payments going through on Mon & TUES & a mortgage payment Mon March 6th called Mon lady is off nobody else could do anything so I take Tues I take the day off work to get this resolved called branch at 9:00am put on hold for 20 min then tolled she was with someone & she will call me back no call back til 2:30 pm so I ask what the problem is she tells me she froze my a/c because I was making to many transactions on my unlimited transaction a/c ? so i ask why they didn't call me she tells me she tried to on the Thurs but i didn't answer so I tell her you didn't try very hard because I have 3 phone # with s/b all with voice mail & 2 email addresses & messages on scotia online & I didn't get a message or email, so she ask me why so many transactions so I tell her that I buy collectibles online and I fund a stockpair short term options trading a/c by transfers to my visa & a online poker a/c she tells me she will not lift the freeze until i show her what i am buying so i tell her what items i purchase with my money is none of your concern she says she will not release the hold & is getting rude now I am getting angry & said this is *** & hang up on her 1/2 hr later i called back got her voice mail I apologized for hanging up & ask her to call me back so we can resolve this,no call back next day I call & get voice mail leave a message again still no return call & my payments go nsf i call the presidents office complaint line explain whats happening they ask if i spoke to the manager so i tell her she is on vacation so she makes me a appointment for 6:00 pm next day at the branch then she says that they have the right to ask so they can give me the right a/c so I tell her that I am the customer and i will pick what a/c i want next day to branch they tell me there is no appointment so I go home check my email and i have a confirmation email for a 6.pm appointment, wasting my time call Office of the President they tell me the manager was still away on the app. day common courtesy would be a call or a email me telling me this so I DON'T waste 3hrs of my time

they tell me that the manager will contact me first thing Mon. morning. saturday have to change my plans go to my other bank & get some cash for a wedding that nite & make some bill payments. Monday morning manager does call she asked me to give her a day to look into what's going on I said that's fine but I do not want my mortgage payment going nsf she assured me she will put it through Tues. check my a/c mortgage payment not showing I call manager leave a message asking for a call back didn't get one. Wend. leave a message again she does call me a few hrs. later, She says she will remove the hold Thursday morning & the mortgage payment has been done but there will be a hold on the $500 overdraft & scotiabank does not want my business & will close my a/c on april 8/17 I said that's fine after this I was going to close it but there is still the $192 nsf charges 2 from scotia and 2 from payes she tells me that she will refund the 2 from scotia but they are not responsible other charges ? I tell her I don't agree scotiabank withdrew the a/c fees that makes them responsible I did not do any thing wrong why should it cost me $92 plus 2 weeks of wasted time & headaches but at this point I wanted this over so I agreed & withdrew my money. A week or so later I received a letter saying that scotia will be closing my a/c 08/04/17 two months later I get a voice mail from scotia saying to make a payment by the end of the month or it will go to collection my a/c is overdrawn $84 so I go online and see that they have charged a/c fees overdraft fees interest fees for a couple months I call them try telling them there is no a/c was to be close by you april 8th tells me that I should have made sure that there are funds at end of month for fees that is why overdraft fees are being charged & would not remove charges & close a/c call back next day same thing tell me I have to pay the balance to close a/c tell them the a/c should have been closed april 8th why should I pay for there incompetents but I DID not want this to go on my credit rating so i made a deposit couldn't get my money back so I started to use the a/c two months later i noticed that they still had the $500 hold on the o/d &charging the fees for it so i call to have the o/d taken off a/c get a letter confirming removal of o/d had a cash balance $590 in a/c over the next couple days i made 18 payments and 5 deposits making sure to have enough to cover payments two days later i check the a/c online and see 8 returned payments so i call to see why they tell me that there is a $500 hold on a/c i try telling them the hold was on the o/d that was canceled because i was getting charged for but not able to use i am tolled that i must talk to my branch only they can remove the hold so i call get the the woman that originally started this mess i ask her to remove the hold on my money she says I remember you and said she will not remove the hold & hangs up on me next day get 10 more nsfs because of nsf fees & $500 hold i call the Office of the President i am tolled that i have to first try to resolve this with the branch manager they make me an appointment Nov 8th 3;00 pm that i have to take off 1/2 a day of work it is a new manager i tell him the whole story with proof letters emails and dates times of calls tell him i have $1100 in fees that i want back & my $395 balance on hold now so he says that it is partly my fault because i should not have used the a/c and tells me he can't return the fees until he reviews the statements to give him 2 days & they will send me a cheque for the fees that they are responsible for I tolled him i will give a week & to please call me or email the result but the a/c gets closed and my $395 returned now he gets it done I thank him & remind him to call me 3 weeks go bye no call no cheque I call & leave a message to return my call 3 more messages through the week yet no return call a week later he calls I ask what was the result he says you haven't got the cheque yet it was mailed a week ago I ask how much he says he think just over $100 tells me they don't pay for other institutions fees even when they where the cause ,but still they withdrew there monthly fees that should make them accountable.

never again will scotiabank get 1cent from me

next week received a cheque for$93.35

out of pocket $1065 & about 40hrs
