This bank uses the doctrine of false information to customers. Don't ever believe for a minute that they care about your money." Your richer than you think ".

We're just bottom feeders on their agenda on every level.

We just transferred 200,000 to another bank because everyone from the tellers to the managers were inept and lacked the skills to make customer service#1 priority. They like to drag it in forever.

Admitted Error by Scotiabank on my Mortgage

Scotiabank admitted to making an error on my mortgage amortization by doubling the amount of interest. Office of President was supposed to investigate 1 1/2 years later no audit completed

No service!

Put a request in with The Office of the President. I never heard back until over 3 weeks later. The "Manager" replied saying they were still investigating my complaint and thanks me for my response. The issue had already been resolved 3 weeks prior so obviously nothing was looked into or I would not have received the email. "The Office of the President" ... sounds so important. What a joke of a department this is. They must be very busy and response time is pathetic. Yeah, busy handling the millions of complaints. Scotiabank service level sure has gone downhill.

Time waiting for "customer service".

The time to get through to "customer service" at the Bank of Nova Scotia to make a minor change to an address of a non-personal account was 20 minutes at one customer service number and 10 minutes at the branch. It's obvious that quarterly dividends and executive bonuses are much more important than providing customers service. Credit unions are better.

FAKE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Scotiabank help and our own scotiabank branch are the best at screwing around customers. After over 6 months of what we the customer had been trusting Scotiabank's financial advisers had said they were taking care of with a 2nd mortgage (which we the customer had "signed" off paper work for) has all been a lie and means nothing.

Disrespect

Went to cash some checks; was told that I must stay outside in the rain due to covid rules. Other people were using their smartphones for an app and were automatically allowed to walk in the bank. I'm an elderly man with no cellphone, so I had to wait outside, When I finally was allowed in I had to wait in another lineup! The staff were very rude and disrespectful to elderly people!

All experiences with this company

The wait times on the phone are horrible, but beyond that, the help is spotty at best. They seem to just want to pass the buck to other people as they transferred me several times, twice to the "wrong person." I was asking a very simple question, "What's the payout amount of the loan?"

ITrade issues

I have been with Scotiabank for about 25 and Scotia iTrade for about 18. Itrade is horrible. I really want to move all my money to another brokerage but I'm terrified that they will loose all I've invested.

I submitted and LOD almost 2 months ago. Please I don't want excuses relating to COVID. This is not the only instance. iTrade claims that there is priority service for gold members and this is absolutely false.

USUCK

THIS time i went to a branch to make payment,on two visas. presented both cards to the teller,with payment instructions.Payments where put on ONE card.I got called from collections that payment was not received,on the other.Collections hung up on me,or somehow the call ended.I called them back,and have been sitting on hold for about an hour and counting....THIS IS THE LATEST IN A STRING OF OCCURRANCES THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED SINCE GETTING THE CARDS. OF COURSE COLLECTIONS IS WORKING ON SATURDAY,BUT NO BRANCHES OPEN.

Credit Card

They don't have Idea how to protect clients against the scam. I talked with Mr Daniel at the office of president. He recommended me to keep sending email to the agency that stole my money!!!!! If they wanted to refund my money why I contacted Scotia to help me? So ridiculous!

Warn others of itrade

money disappeared from my account- trying to reach itrade by phone, email, secure message+ facebook for 1 month. Yet to be able to connect with a person. I never wait more than 3 hrs on phone before giving up. by far the worst discount trading firm in canada, and making no effort at all to change that

Prevented credit card fraud

I have an AmEx card with Scotiabank in the Dominican Republic. It has both pesos and US$. I only use it to buy on Amazon. It is rare that I use it for anything else online. In person I use it constantly in the DR because it gives me great rebates. Yesterday Scotiabank called me to ask if I had booked an airline ticket for $510US. During a pandemic? I'm 70 years old! The easy answer was, 'No'. There was also an authorization request that showed up on my e-mail at the same time that the CSR called. Immediately the transactions were cancelled and the card number was also cancelled. An inconvenience, but to save over $500, I'll take it. Thank you, Sociabank for your good service!
