My Visa card got stolen, didn’t notice it until a week later. So I called them to report it and they had no clue what I was talking about, I gave the guy all my info and he told me he’ll transfer me to get some help.

A guy answers and I’m going through the whole process all over again... I asked him why did I get transferred and he said he didn’t know. They were trying to discuss with me that there are no additional chargers even though I watched transactions pop up from Alberta meanwhile I’ve never even been there. I had to fight my way through, finally he said my card will come in mail and I’ll get my money back.

So I’m thinking perfect, I get my card in the mail and it already has a payment due even though I haven’t used it. And there’s an activation fee, which I wasn’t informed about because if I was I wouldn’t have got the card in the first place. So here I am frustrated calling the damn bank, saying what are all these fees??? She’s like cause you didn’t pay your bill..

I literally paid it 5 days ago. She doesn’t even apologize, when she recognized that I did. In the end, I was just livid with this bank and told her to just cancel the card and everything I’m never going back to Scotiabank.

Their hours of operation are ridiculous for people who actually have a life as well. I do NOT recommend this bank at all, avoid it as much as possible.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Thanks means a lot! Wish Scotiabank could be apologetic like you are.
